There is an age, somewhere around P6, where a completely plain bag becomes unacceptable and nothing you say about practicality will change it. This is the bag for that year.
The front carries a hand-drawn white graphic, the kind of thing that looks sketched rather than printed, and it comes with a beaded chain charm and a neon green zip pull already attached. Both come off if they turn out to be a problem at school.
Underneath the decoration it is the same construction as the rest of the range. Water-resistant nylon, padded straps, a full width front pocket and a main compartment that takes A4 books flat.

Sizing
Three sizes, and the right one is mostly about how much he actually carries rather than how tall he is. A small child with a full timetable still needs the medium. If you are unsure, bring the heaviest day’s books to the shop and we will pack them into each one.
Looking after it
Sponge it down with soapy water and dry it in the shade. Keep it out of the washing machine, it pulls the padding out of shape and it never recovers.
