This is the shoe most of our parents come back for. It is cut from soft black leather with a rounded toe, so there is room across the front for growing feet, and the punched petal detail across the vamp keeps it from looking like every other pair on the shelf.
The strap is velcro rather than a buckle, which matters more than it sounds. A child in P1 or P2 can fasten it herself on the first morning back, and nobody is crouching at the door fiddling with a buckle when you are already late. It adjusts across the instep too, so a narrow foot and a wider foot both end up properly held.
Underneath is a thick moulded sole with a deep tread. It grips on wet corridor tiles and on murram, and the cushioning is still there at the end of term.

Getting the size right
Bring her in and we will measure both feet, because one is almost always slightly bigger than the other. If you are ordering online, stand her on a piece of paper, mark the heel and the tip of the longest toe, measure that in centimetres and add half a centimetre for growing room. Send us the number on WhatsApp and we will tell you which size to take.
Looking after them
Wipe the leather with a damp cloth when she gets home and polish them properly on Sunday evening. Keep them out of direct sun to dry, it hardens the leather and it cracks.
